SOLDNER:
The Secret Wars
The
FPS genre has been one of the most appealing to gamers and one of the
most successful. From Doom to Halo, FPS’s have always been a way of
immersing the player into the character, without feeling as if they are
merely playing a character.
Now, Soldner: Secret Wars will try to implement some of the same tactics
from other classic FPS’s, as well as offer some refreshing
modifications. Soldner (the name being derived from a German word meaning “mercenary”) will standout from other FPS’s by offering an arsenal of new technological enhancements. First, the game will be a tactical shooter. In other words: you won’t be able to run around and kill the enemy. Instead, the tempo of gameplay will be that of Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six. The idea of the |

game is to command a group of
secretly hired soldiers to complete certain missions to keep the world
from breaking into WW3. The missions will be mixed between stealth, and
straightforward eliminating the enemy. The other will be the ADS
(Advanced Destruction System) which will permit destruction to anything
seen on the screen. This will create for not only a graphically
realistic game, but technologically realistic.
However, the most intriguing of all features is the diplomatic structure used to progress the story. Taking place in the near future, the game exploits an |

artificial (political) world reacting
on the basis of your decisions;
creating an environment unlike any other seen in a FPS. Soldner will try
and revolutionize the FPS sphere into more then pointing and firing. The
developers are indeed carrying too much on their shoulders; hopefully
the weight won’t cause them to collapse. FEATURES:
